Meet Our Team

With a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Auburn University and a master’s degree in environmental engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology, Eugene subsequently traveled the world, completing numerous engineering jobs for oil and gas companies. In 2005, Eugene “Gene” Houchins III returned to Georgia and later launched the American Life Fund Corp to occupy a major need in the life insurance industry.

Under Mr. Houchins’ leadership, the American Life Fund Corp helps provide individuals with life-threatening illnesses rapid influxes of cash to cover both medical and living expenses. In addition to providing these funds, he is able to advise older individuals who need to liquidate their unwanted or unneeded life policy. Beyond his professional pursuits, Gene is an avid football fan who also enjoys coaching little league and middle school athletics.

Erin has been with American Life Fund since 2013. She initially held the role of Director of Marketing and was promoted to Senior Vice President of Acquisitions in 2021. Erin has over 10 years of experience in the life settlement and viatical settlement industry.

Erin is passionate about her role at American Life Fund with her hands-on approach of helping clients achieve their financial goals as well as ensuring that the process is seamless from start to finish for each and every client. Erin is a native of Atlanta, Georgia and is a graduate of Georgia State University. She enjoys spending quality time with her family and two children as well as biking. She is also an avid sports lover.

Jamie began her career at American Life Fund in 2007 as a Client Case Manager, earning her bachelors of business administration from Georgia State University in 2013. She spent many years leading the operations team and earned the title of Vice President of Operations in 2022.

Jamie directs every life insurance settlement closing at American Life Fund, ensuring each transaction goes as quickly and smoothly as possible for each and every client. She prides herself on the relationships she builds with clients, helping them during some of the most difficult times in their lives and providing them with financial peace of mind. Jamie is an Atlanta native and when she’s not cheering on her two boys at their little league games, she enjoys spending time with her family and creating beautiful items in her craft studio.

Lacey has been with American Life Fund as Director of Marketing since 2016. She graduated from Kennesaw State University in 2015 with a bachelors degree in Mass Communications. She began her marketing career at an advertising agency and specializes in the digital marketing space. She enjoys educating and introducing prospective clients from all over the U.S. to American Life Fund’s financial service. She enjoys the strategic and creative aspects of her role and strives to continuously find new ways to reach insured individuals who could benefit from viatical and life settlements.

In her personal time, Lacey enjoys traveling, trying new foods and restaurants, spending time with her boyfriend and two dogs, and visiting her family in her hometown of Savannah, Georgia.
